My “ITV Ventures” MLM Adventure
August 14th, 2007 · Filed Under: My ITV Ventures MLM Adventure
OK, here it is. My first post in what I intend to be the chronicle of my success with ITV Ventures:-)
~~~
I was looking for information about a different MLM when I found a website about ITV Ventures. I’m a stay at home mom with a desire to work from home, and have been interested in MLM for years, but have yet to make any money with it, while having spent a great deal. Anybody relate?
You probably have heard that one definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result? Well, I was starting to feel just a tad crazy, because I was still attracted to this industry that just didn’t seem to be a good fit for me.
But I am happy to say that there is something significantly different about ITV Ventures that has me feeling less crazy and more optimistic that there is a chance I can actually realize my dream of residual income marketing health products that work. And here’s the corker: I only talk to people who already want to try them.
I can make money without ever having to approach anyone who hasn’t called me to inquire about what I market, whether it be a product or the business.
So what’s the catch?
The leads are not free. The training is not free. If they were, then I would be an employee and get paid an hourly wage to answer their phones. No commissions, no residuals, no business; just a job.
So the “catch” makes sense. Why? Because lack of people to talk to about the products and business, and really learning what it takes to have your own business, are the two things that cause most people to quit MLM before they ever make any money.
We are used to getting free training when we join an MLM, but the training we receive is typically unstructured, whatever our sponsor deems appropriate, and whatever is in the manual, which varies little from company to company (I should know, lol!) and so far is producing a 95% industry-wide failure rate. It is time for a change.
I am willing to invest more money upfront for those benefits for myself and the people I sponsor.
How I Chose my Sponsor
I wanted to talk to the guy who created the website I found because I really liked it. It incorporates the feel of “The Secret” movie which is wildly popular right now (though missing some vital information - keep reading for more) and it makes a nice first impression. At least it did on me, and that is who I am looking for: people like me.
So I emailed my phone number to Kean (pronounced Kee-Yawn) who called me the very next morning. He was (and is) refreshingly real. He wasn’t desperate to get me into the business, in fact encouraged me to use Google to find other ITV Ventures teams so I would know if his team was the best fit for me. I did so, and did not find another team that impressed me as much as what Kean has so diligently put together.
I wanted to talk with him and see what he had to say about this opportunity. I wanted to know if he was a heavy-hitter type (not). I wanted to know if he would write me off because I have limited hours I can work the business (he did not - he helped me figure out the best strategy for me). I wanted to know if he has leadership qualities (he does) because in order to become a good leader, I needed to follow one first. I wanted to know if he is aware that 82% of people who join network marketing companies are women (he does).
You see, I still just wasn’t sure that pursuing another MLM was a good idea for me, considering my track record, lol! So I was being picky about who I would work with because I had made the mistake of selecting the wrong sponsor in the past. So to me, this was an important decision. I knew I needed the help of someone who not only understands business, but also cares about people.
The other IBOs that I contacted never called me, though they all asked for my phone number. I found that odd at first, but considering what I know about Law of Attraction, not so odd on second thought.
Kean’s confidence that what he was doing was right, solid, real and that the right people would see that and join with him, was refreshing.
I also feel we complement each other in that I am a stay-at-home-mother, whose free-time fluctuates, while he is working the business 100% and is readily accessible to me and any people I refer and sponsor. It is very important to me that if for some reason I am unavailable, my downline members have access to the help they need.
I actually wanted to join ITV sooner, but we had a vacation planned for early August, so I held-off until our return so I could focus on what I need to learn and do to be successful in ITV. Fortunately, Kean has made getting up to speed a simple process which I will be writing about in upcoming posts.
To sum up why I joined ITV:
- I know what I want.
- I know my personal strengths and what I am willing and able to do with the time I have available to build a business.
- This opportunity is a good fit for me. Kean helped me figure out the best ways to work this business in the time I have, and with the resources I already have in place.
For me, it is a simple case of convergence. Several factors have come together at the same time, in a way that has my intuition telling me that ITV is worth my attention. So I joined with Kean as my sponsor.
What I have done so far:
- Due diligence including lots of pre-paving (imagining) about how I want to feel and what I want to experience now, and as I begin building this business. (This is one of many ways to use the Law of Attraction, as taught by Abraham. Info at www.Abraham-Hicks.com)
- Tried the Naked Minerals makeup. It took a couple trys to get used to it, and now I really like it.
- Discussed the business in-depth with my husband, Eric, who agrees it is a good fit for me.
- Sat down with Eric and figured out how we are going to finance the advertising and daycare/preschool for the kids, and what hours I can take live calls on the weekends.
- Talked with a woman who runs an alternative style day-care, for my son, so I can schedule calls during the time both of my children are away.
- Joined at the $499 level
- Printed out the training materials provided by my sponsor (Kean)
What I am looking forward to:
- Receiving my materials and products
- Trying the Rice n Shine product in particular & reading the Natural Cures books. I want to try the colon cleanse product too, but have to wait as I am still nursing.
- Our live team opportunity call tonight (Weds.) at 8PM EST. 712-429-0700 pin 696157#. Join us if you like.
- My inevitable personal expansion as I build this business.
- Visiting corporae headquarters sometime soon, which is in Boston, MA, only 2 hours East of my home.
- Accomplishing all of the things on my “Why” list over the next few years
Advantages I feel I have that will help me succeed with ITV
- I am very comfortable talking to people on the phone
- I have a website that already has some regular traffic, that I can advertise on without extra expense
- I feel I will be able to begin creating cash flow relatively quickly (within 6 weeks) based on what I know so far about the opportunity
- I have an in-depth understanding of the Law of Attraction, and know what to do if I get off-course for any reason
- I am very comfortable with computers and can fill out online forms:-)
- I am teachable and want to learn what I need to know to succeed
- I spent the time to line up my energy around the idea of being in involved in this business
- I have a long list of reasons why succeeding in this business is important to me and my family
- I enjoy thinking about how it will feel to have a steady stream of passive income, from the sale of whole-food and other products that really help people:-)))
- I feel happy and excited about the future of my business because I have realistic expectations, based on the strategy sessions with Kean
So I probably have about another day or 2 to wait for my pacakage. I’m really looking for ward to trying Rice n Shine, and I hope my kids like it, too. It is so much more than a mere meal replacement, with 120 naturall anitoxidants, so I will be thrilled if I can get some of this into them, lol!
Kean says the chocolate is the best, but I was thinking I might like the vanilla best for the versatility. Then I could add fruits to it, for a smoothie, or some organic cocoa powder and a little stevia to make our own chocolate…yum!
Next up: What happened after I joined ITV Ventures? Coming soon to this blog near you. I’m not kidding! I will be posting about everything that I go through to build this business. I am not sure what will happen…but I am optimistic and I do know I am ready for positive change, and I’m committed to posting the good, the bad and even the ugly, should any ugly occur. You can subscribe to my blog (top right) and get an email message that lets you know each time I post.
I leave you today with a quote from Abraham:
“You have sole ownership of your vision. And the Universe will give you what you want within your vision. What happens with most people is that they muddy their vision with “reality”. Their vision becomes full of not only what they want but what everybody else thinks about what they want, too. Your work is to clarify and purify your vision so that the vibration that you are offering can then be answered.”
Until next time, all my best,
Tracy
PS Please forgive me if I missed any apostrophes. My 20 month-old son disabled that key somehow, and spell check only goes so far! Also, I know this was long. I will try to be more brief in upcoming posts, lol!
